Shetland Islands Council selected tf. facility for its Corporate Asset Management Software

We are delighted to announce that after a thorough market evaluation the Shetland Islands Council has selected The Technology Forge to provide their corporate asset management software.

The Shetland Islands Council operates from a variety of properties throughout Shetland including 33 schools, 17 municipal libraries, museum & park properties, 31 offices, 22 social care facilities and 40 general use buildings. The council also provides a range of property management and maintenance services to a range of external bodies.

Prior to implementation, the council were using a variety of standalone systems to record and manage estates information. The aim of the project was to put in place a comprehensive property information source in a single, integrated database enabling the delivery of a better and more focused Building Maintenance and Estates Management Service to the Corporate Council estate, thereby reducing waste and duplication of effort. The prime focus of the system is to help the Council comply with its overall responsibilities under current health and safety legislation by holding details of current compliance certification, known locations of harmful materials such as asbestos, and key asset data on items of plant and equipment, e.g. boiler plant.

Following a strict and detailed tender process it became clear that The Technology Forge system was the best match for Shetland’s requirements.
