Bournemouth is a unitary authority covering 46.15 square kilometres. The area is largely urban but also include 842 hectares of parks and gardens and 11km of award winning sandy beaches. The area has a population approaching 200,000 with nearly 25% over the age of 60 and over 20,000 students.
Bournemouth Borough Council has established an enviable record for the management of its assets. It has done this by taking a long-term strategic approach to ensure that its land and property provide the best possible value for local taxpayers, as well as acting as a driver for change in the delivery of the Council’s objectives.
tf cloud has been introduced within the Facilities Management service to replace the Council’s Atrium system and functionality includes help desk, works ordering system, project management and contract administration functions, budget information (maintenance and capital projects), a time-costing system for fee recharges, and building survey information. The system will also integrate with the Council’s finance system and provide portal access to contractors and self-serve users across the authority.
Roger Ball, Director of Development Services at Bournemouth Borough Council comments:
“Property Services are introducing the estates and property modules to replace their existing, in-house system. Alongside Facilities Management this will provide the Council with a cloud based, corporate wide asset management system which will streamline the management of the estate. By choosing tf cloud, Bournemouth will be in a good positon to work closer with its neighbours as joint working and local government restructuring agendas accelerate”.
Mark Wardman, Managing Director of The Technology Forge comments:
“We are delighted to welcome Bournemouth Borough Council to our south coast user group which is proving to be a key area for The Technology Forge. We already have Borough of Poole, Dorset County Council, Weymouth & Portland Council, Isle of Wight Council and Southampton City Council as customers and are looking forward to the coming months and years as we assist Bournemouth to manage its valuable estate using tf cloud”.
