Sheffield Homes chooses web based housing asbestos system
The Technology Forge is delighted to announce that Sheffield Homes have bought tf. facility hazard module for recording asbestos. Sheffield Homes contacted the Technology Forge after attending an Asbestos Seminar at which The Technology Forge gave a presentation of asbestos management software, and after receiving a strong recommendation from existing clients Sheffield City Council.
Sheffield Homes was developed out of Sheffield City Council but is a separate organisation. They are the largest Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) in the country, providing housing management services and managing repairs and improvements to tenants' homes. Their mission is to work together to provide excellent homes and services, in order to create clean, attractive neighbourhoods for communities in Sheffield.
The main requirement for Sheffield Homes was to purchase a web based system that would link directly to their existing housing system, Anite Housing. The implementation of tf. facility will significantly improve the time taken to collect data and will help perform risk analysis and manage actions through to closure. The module will allow both operatives and contractors to view instances of asbestos. The handheld devices enable surveyors to transfer survey data directly to the database thereby eliminating the need to return to the office. The hazard module conforms to the MDHS 100 requirements and the ‘Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations’.
Richard Hawson, Investment Manager at Sheffield Homes, comments “From initial enquiry to the final setting up a formal contract . . .support and guidance has always been available from The Technology Forge.”
The Technology Forge is looking forward to forming a strong working relationship with Sheffield Homes through and beyond this project.
